Larry U. Bailey

Mr. Larry U. Bailey, 78, of Sylvester died Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The graveside services were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday July 21, 2013 at Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Jason Jones officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Gerald Bryan, Cale Bryan, Reid Bryan, Johnathan Wells, Skip Pannell and Ted Sumner.
Mr. Bailey was born on October 25, 1934 in Dooly County to the late Joe K. and Myrtle Price Bailey. He lived in Sylvester for the past 55 years and was retired from Jim Horne Mill Supply in Albany. He was a volunteer firefighter for 49 years and enjoyed racing and hunting. Mr. Bailey was a member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation and was of the Holiness Faith.
Survivors include his wife, Marry Harris Bailey of Sylvester; son, Larry “Chubby” Bailey (Holly) of Sylvester; daughter, Marsha B. Ward of Sylvester; grandchildren, Misty Montgomery (Bill), Kevin Bailey (Tonya), Mallory Garwood (Luke), Molly Emerson (Michael) and Daniel Bailey and (Alyson Bridges) and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his brother, J. K. Bailey.

Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester was in charge of the arrangements.
