Former Worth County softball standouts Haley and Heather Ellis recently participated in the NCAA Division II Women’s College World Series held in Salem, Va.
Only eight teams make it to WCWS and the twin sisters helped Armstrong Atlantic State University to a number three national ranking. Along the way they eliminated last year’s national champion Valdosta State and Humbolt State from California. The eventual champion, Central Oklahoma, eliminated Armstrong. However, the team ended the year as Peach Belt Conference Champions with an overall 44-10-1 record.
