The Sylvester Police Department was contacted by the Worth County School System this past Friday in regards to a threat that directed towards the Worth County Primary School through a facebook post. George Everett Phillips Jr. posted a threatening message towards the school Thursday regarding his displeasure with the way his child was being dealt with at the school. This morning at approximately 9 a.m., the Sylvester Police Department along with assistance from the Worth County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at Phillips’ residence. He was taken into custody without incident. Evidence was retrieved from the residence along with a small quantity of guns. Phillips was transported to the Sylvester Police Department where he was interviewed and charged. He is currently in the Worth County Jail facing Terroristic Threats and Acts charges as well as Possession of a Firearm by a convicted felon.
