Ted Sumner

Mr. Ted Sumner, 61 of Sylvester, died on Friday, August 2, 2019.

The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 5, 2019 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment followed in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. The Rev. Fred White officiated.

Mr. Sumner was born on March 5, 1958 in Sylvester, GA., to John Edwin Sr., and Nell Hill Sumner. He had lived in Worth County all of his life and was Contractor. Mr. Sumner was a former Paramedic for the Worth County EMS and was also a volunteer Firefighter for many years. He enjoyed Turkey and Quail hunting, but most importantly spending time with his friends and family. Mr. Sumner was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and the New Bethel Freewill Church.

Survivors include his children, Cole Sumner (Amanda) of Sylvester, Christina Sumner of Albany and Teresa Hudson of Albany;  mother, Nell Hill Sumner of Sylvester; grandchildren, Chapel Sumner and Finn Lage; brothers, Johnny Sumner (Debbie) of Sylvester, Tommy Sumner (Wanda) of Sylvester and Chris Sumner (Sheila) of Early County; a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Mr. Sumner was preceded in death by his brother, Al Sumner.
