Mr. Troy D. West, Sr., 73, of Poulan died Friday November 29, 2013 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center.
The graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday December 2, 2013 in the Poulan Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Troy West, Jr., Alan West, Kyle West, John West, Trey West, Dillon West and Dalton West.
Mr. West was born on September 23, 1940 in Doles. He lived in Poulan most his life and was retired from Coats and Clark after 45 years. Mr. West was a member of Poulan Baptist Church and former member of the Poulan Lions Club. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Survivors include his wife, Violet Webb West of Poulan; sons, Troy D. West, Jr., (Sharon) of Poulan, Alan West (Bonnie) of Poulan, Kyle G. West of Augusta and John C. West of Poulan; mother, Janie L. “Polly” West of Poulan; brother, Hugh Harris West (Jerry) of Valdosta; grandchildren, Kayla Ford (Jeremy), Trey West, Dillon West and Dalton West and great-grandchildren, Cooper and Grant Ford.
Mr. West was preceded in death by his father, Buford Garvin West.
