Mrs. Virginia Horne Tipton, 96, of Sylvester died Tuesday February 3, 2016 at Pruitt Health Sylvester.
The graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday February 7, 2016 at the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Earnie Pirkle and Rev. T.J. Mauldin will officiate.
Mrs. Tipton was born in Colquitt County on January 9, 1920 to the late James Hansel and Elizabeth Missouri Roberts Horne. She enjoyed walking and loved her plants and dogs. Mrs. Tipton worked with Dr. Crowe for many years as his office manager and bookkeeper. She was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves fan. Mrs. Tipton was a member of First Baptist Church, A.B.C. and sang in senior adult choir.
Survivors include her daughter, Clara Davis Hamm of Sylvester; son, Warren Allen Davis of Tucker; grandchildren, Camille Hamm Graddy, Kimberly Hamm Czerepinski (Steve) and Jennifer Davis; great grandchildren, Taylor James Mauldin (T.J.), Emmett Bryce Graddy, Maegan Czerepinski Shaw (Matt), John Colby Czerepinski and a great grandchild, Davis Matthew Shaw; step-children, Susan T. Webb of Albany, Keit Tipton of Marietta and four step grandchildren.
Mrs. Tipton was preceded in death by her husband, W. Charles Tipton on September 6, 1983.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2:00 PM until service hour at Banks Funeral Home.
