Mrs. Willena Harrison Taylor, 78, of Sylvester died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Kindred Hospital in Atlanta.
The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Poulan Cemetery. The Rev. Clinton Fields will officiate.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Jesup, GA on August 6, 1936 to the late James Oscar and Mary Magdeline Teston Harrison. She had lived in Worth County since 1958 and worked for many years as a cosmetologist. She was also a hairdresser for the residents at Sylvester Health Care and Pine Shadows. Mrs. Taylor enjoyed sewing, making crafts, playing cards and video games.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary T. Kunselman (Jim) of Carrollton; Terri T. Harper (Jeff) of Sylvester; grandchildren, Cathy Thompson (Kirby), Billy Ray Taylor, Jr., Jessica Taschwer (Dave), Donna Thompson (Kipp), Michael Taylor, Joel McBride (Meghan) and Kristian McBride; 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; daughter-in-law, Cindy Giddens; sisters, Geraldine Easterlin, Faye Collins and Jackie Manning all of Jesup, brothers, Aldine Harrison, Jimmy Harrison and Don Harrison all of Jesup.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Mifford G. Taylor on March 18, 1997, two sons, Clay Taylor on February 13, 1978; Billy Ray Taylor on December 14, 1985 and a grandson, Taylor Graham.
Pallbearers included, Brad Akridge, Austin Akridge, Jim Kunselman, Dave Tashwer, Kipp Thompson and Kirby Thompson.
