Worth County High School Principal Scott Chafin announced last week that the Rams have hired a new athletic director to replace Coach Russ Beard who retired in December. Coach Frankie Carroll has served as the athletic director and head football coach for the Pelham Hornets for the last four years. In Worth County, Coach Carroll will also take over as quarterbacks coach after Coach Ken Holland retires in June.
Chafin mentioned that Coach Carroll held a 4-6 record in his last year as head coach at Pelham. However, he served to help turn the football program around for the Hornets before deciding it was time to let someone else take over. Before Pelham, Carroll served as athletic director and head football coach in Madison County Florida. He has over 100 wins as a coach, and his teams have competed for three state championships and won one.
