Zollie Glenda Bozeman Brown

Mrs. Zollie Glenda Bozeman Brown, 73, of Sylvester died Monday April 22, 2013 at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday April 24, 2013 at Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Mike Davis officiating.
Mrs. Brown was born on October 24, 1939 to the late Marion Wingard and Emma Lee Jones Bozeman in Worth County where she lived most of her. She was a Sylvester High School graduate and attended continuing education classes at Darton College in Albany as well as a graduate of the Dougherty County Leadership Development Institute.
Mrs. Brown was an ordained Elder in the Trinity Presbyterian Church, member of the Choir, former Commissioner to the Synod of the South Atlantic on three occasions, and former Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Brown served as Flood Relief Coordinator for the Flint River Presbytery during the flood of 1994. She was a longtime volunteer worker and advocate for Mental Health and spent more than 15 years in volunteer service for the Worth County Mental Health Center. Mrs. Brown was a past Chair of the Worth County MH Center Advisory Council and Chair of the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Albany Area MH Center. Mrs. Brown served in various positions on the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network Board and presented legislative workshops at several Annual Conferences. She was a member of the Albany Area Community Service Board for four years, serving as Secretary for two years, a past member of the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Council and spent seven years on the Governor’s Advisory Council for Mental Health. Mrs. Brown was recognized for her faithful Mental Health Service by several organizations including the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network, Worth County Board of Commissioners and the Georgia House of Representatives. Mrs. Brown served several years on the Worth County Board of Health, many of those years as Vice Chair.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel Blake Brown of Sylvester; daughter, Anne Brown Bradford (Wayne) of Byron Ga.; grandson, Robert Eunice of Atlanta Ga.; brother O’Neal Bozeman (Connie) of Tifton; brothers and sisters-in-law Bill Brown (Ruth) of Statesboro; Margaret B. Gilley (Cliff) of Bainbridge Ga. and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and former son-in-law Richard Eunice (Sharon) of Byron, a special friend, Sandra Cosby (Mike) of Doerun.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Reuben H. Neely.
Pallbearers include Michael Cosby, John Sutton, Tom Sumner, Ronald Hudson, Darrel Clayton and Ethan Golden. Honorary pallbearers include Marion Youngblood, Chad Waltman and Larry Almand.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until service hour at Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church.
