Earleen Wilkerson Sizemore

Mrs. Earleen Wilkerson Sizemore, 76, of Sylvester died Wednesday August 20, 2014 at Pruitt Health Care Sylvester.

The funeral service was held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the New Hope Baptist Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Sizemore was born in Scooterville, GA on July 29, 1938 to the late Joseph Earl and Mamie Eloise Roberts Wilkerson. She was a former educator and administrator with Moultrie Technical College. Mrs. Sizemore was the first female to serve on the Georgia Public Service Commission and was a former Worth County School Superintendant. She was a state representative for 14 years having served as chairman of the House, Ways and Means Committee. Mrs. Sizemore enjoyed doing genealogy and spending time on her farm in Scooterville. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Vicki S. Bryan (Jimmy) of Sumner and Staci S. Vann (Scott) of Baconton; grandchildren, James Bryan, Drew Bryan, Frank Vann and Robby Jane Vann; sister, Mira Chapman of CoCo Beach, FL; brother, Joe Earl Wilkerson of Coosa Island, AL.

Mrs. Sizemore was preceded in death by a son Robby Sizemore on January 10, 1979.

Pallbearers included: James Bryan, Frank Vann, Todd Sizemore, Keith Sutton, Tim Sizemore and Jess Hurst.
