Mr. John Mack Park, 79, of Cordele died on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Emory University Hospital of Atlanta.
The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church with interment following in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Rev. Steve Purnell officiated.
Mr. Park was born on September 22, 1938 in Albany to the late Mack and Frances Dupriest Park. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Park was a retired Pharmacist with Park Drug Company in Sylvester. He was on the Board of Directors with Sylvester Banking Company for many years. Mr. Park enjoyed, hunting, fishing and had a deep passion for history.
Survivors include wife, Deborah Park of Cordele; son, Mack Park of Sylvester; father-in-law, William “Buddy” Welch; a very close friend, Jane McCook; and three parrots of which he adored Sunshine, Moon Beam, and Affey.

Pallbearers for the service included Jay Crowe, Ben Hudson, Ronald Hudson, Sam Varnadoe, Mickey Boyd and Matt Childers.
