LaNelle Parr

Mrs. LaNelle Kimbro Parr, 88 of Sylvester, died on Monday, January 6, 2020 at her residence.

The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Duncan officiated.

Mrs. Parr was born on January 7, 1931 in Worth County to the late Joe H. and Mary Ethel Geeslin Fleming. She had lived in Worth County for the past 24 years after moving back here from Clayton, Alabama. Mrs. Parr was a homemaker, and was an avid bridge player. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Mrs. Parr was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sylvester and the Ruth Galate Sunday School Class.

Survivors include her children, Alan Kimbro (Jan) of Sylvester, Frank “Kim” Kimbro (Adele) of Tifton, Marcia Inman (Andy) of Sylvester, Dinah P. Tuten (Hal) of Pensacola, FL, and Laura P. Bartley (Ricky) of Shingler; sister, Mary Jean Aultman of Sylvester; 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Edith Lumpkin of Shingler; brother-in-law, Leon Parr (Patsy) of Albany; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; caregiver and friend, Mae Woodard; caregiver, Vontressa Brown.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parr was preceded in death by her first husband, Emory Frank Kimbro; second husband, Lemuel “Lem” Parr IV; siblings, JoAnn F. Pendley and James Fleming.
