Raymond Howell

Mr. Raymond Pinkard Howell, 76 of Sumner, died on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at his residence.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Damascus United Methodist Church, interment will follow in the Damascus Cemetery. The Rev. Chuck Knight and Rev. Ronnie Howell will officiate.  

Mr. Howell was born on July 23, 1943 in Worth County, to the late Roy Allen and Meryl Elizabeth Maddox Howell. He had lived in Worth County most of his life and was formerly a life insurance salesman and also employed at Firestone. Mr. Howell enjoyed researching genealogy, tracing different family trees, following historic pathways, visiting where their families have lived and where history had been fought. He enjoyed talking and spending time with friends and family, especially his grand and great grandchildren. Mr. Howell was a member of the Damascus United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Eva Jane Howell of Ty Ty, GA; children, Joel Howell (Bebe) of Fairhope, AL., Lori H. Weaver (Terry) of Warwick, Ga., David Howell (Beth) of Ty Ty, Ga., and Matt Howell (Marnie Lynn) of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Kristina Howell, Whitney Howell, Joel Howell II, Heath Weaver (Taylor-Beth), Miranda Tibbetts (Michael), Tyler Mullis (Emma), Harrison Howell, Gracie Howell, Bay Howell, Ryder Howell and Parker Howell; great grandchildren, Patrick Tibbetts, Bristol Tibbetts, Jack Tibbetts and Millie Wren Weaver; brothers, Allen Howell (Nell), Ronnie Howell (Delores) and Sherill Howell; sister, Beth H. O’Kelley (Andy); aunt, Vera Barbee Howell; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Howell was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathy H. Sowell and Janis H. Turner; grandchild, Carson Howell.         

The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
