Rachel Griffin

Mrs. Rachel Griffin, 81, of Mentone, AL, died Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Miller County Hospital in Colquitt, GA.

The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 28, 2019 at the Banks Funeral Home Chapel interment  followed  in the Andersonville National Cemetery.

Mrs. Griffin was born on April 5, 1937 in Danville, Virginia to the late Paul Washington and Golden Dove Gray Brummett. She had lived in Sylvester for 23 years before moving to Alabama in 1998. Mrs. Griffin was a homemaker and enjoyed dancing, the outdoors, gardening and especially her flowers.

Survivors include her husband, Earl R. Griffin of Mentone, Al; children, Sharon Selby (Stanley) of Scottsboro, Alabama,  Earl R. (Ray) Griffin, II of Poulan, Marjorie Mayfield (Stephen) of Bainbridge and Jerry L. Griffin (Kathy) of Crawfordville, FL; grandchildren, Vanessa Dolberry, (Kris), Aaron Selby (Marsha), Earl R. Griffin (Trey) III, Paul Griffin (Megan), Amanda Springer (Mike), Blake Brown (Jenny), Stephanie Mayfield, Benjamin Griffin (Alicia), Samuel Griffin and Mikey Griffin;  10 great grandchildren and a brother, David Brummett of Danville, VA.
