Ms. Virginia “Ginny” Ann Souter, 81 of Sylvester, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Pruitt Health of Sylvester.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment will follow in the Shingler Cemetery. The Rev. Dexter Wilson and Rev. Jason Jones will officiate.
Ms. Souter was born on April 24, 1937 in Sylvester, GA to the late Hansel Joseph and Laura Francis Mobley Souter. She had lived in Worth County most of her life. Ms. Souter graduated from the Worth County High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed embroidery, needlepoint, especially baking. She won the Blue Ribbon award every time she entered a baking contest. Ms. Souter taught Sunday school at the Poulan Baptist Church where she served faithfully for many years. She also loved watching the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.
Survivors include her brother-in-law, Laurel Larson of Sylvester; nephew, Steve Larson (Kay) of Albany; niece, Melanie Hurst (Jess) of Sylvester; great nephew, Zachary Hurst of Sylvester; great niece, Jessica Larson of Atlanta.
In addition to her parents Ms. Souter was preceded in death by a sister, Delayne Larson; and a brother, William Robert “Bobby” Souter.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the service hour at Banks Funeral Home.
