Elaine Douglas

Mrs. Elaine L. Douglas, 72 of Sumner, died on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Sylvester, interment will follow in the Poulan Cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Duncan will officiate. 

Mrs. Douglas was born on April 23, 1946 in Tift County to the late Duvall and Frances Louise Eady Douglas. She had lived in Worth County all of her life and was a retired bus driver of 35 years. Mrs. Douglas loved gospel music, baking cakes, but most importantly she loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sylvester, where she worked in the kitchen and was also the head of the nursery.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Griffin (Kenny) of Worth County; son, Michael Lamb (Amber) of Worth County; grandchildren, Brady Wilson, Daniel Lamb, Brittany Grubbs, Tylan Lamb and Caden Lamb; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Haward Douglas, Delbert Douglas; sisters, Reba Brooks, Gwen Nichols and Sandra Harris.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Douglas was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel O’ Quinn and a brother, L.D. Touchton.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
