John Lewis, Sr.

Mr. John C. Lewis, Sr., of Worth County died Saturday, April 6, 2019 at his residence.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Monday April 8, 2019 at the Liberty Hill Baptist Church with interment  following  in the Church Cemetery. The Rev. David Williams officiated.

Mr. Lewis was born on January 19, 1954 in Lebanon, PA to the late James Willard and Helen Bearden Barlett. He had lived in Worth County since 1972 and was retired from the United States Postal Service, and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Worth County Masonic Lodge #194 F & AM and a member of the Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, especially Harleys, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Kaye Lewis of Worth County; daughter, Virginia Wade (John) of Tennessee; sons, James Lewis (Syndi) of Tallahassee, FL, John Lewis, Jr. (Sherry) of Albany; sister, Jean Lehman (Tom) of Pennsylvania, and a brothers Jim Lewis Of Ohio, Terry Lee Lewis (Nancy) and 9 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly Rhue and a brother, David Lewis.

Pallbearers for the service includes John Wade, Wesley Wade, James Lewis, John Lewis, Jimmy Young and Michael Young.
