Mrs. Alma Estelle Chestnutt Chapman, 92, of Sylvester died Tuesday April 30, 2013 at her daughter’s residence.
The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Friday May 3, 2013 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Ephesus Church Cemetery with Elder Jimmy Chapman officiating.
Mrs. Chapman was born on June 6, 1920 in Bridgeboro to the late Marion Zack and Rothie Perdew Chestnutt. She lived in Worth County since 1958 and loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Wanda C. Tyson of Tifton; sons, Elder Jimmy M. Chapman (Carol) of Ocilla, Ronald E. Chapman (Sharon) of Sylvester, David Chapman (Ingrid) of Long Beach CA and Leland Chapman (Denise) of Albany; 14 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Marvin Chapman on August 8, 2006.
Serving as active pallbearers were Tim Chapman, Bill Thrasher, Nelson Cox, Jay McMickin, Keith Chapman, Jimmy Michael James, and Michael McMickin. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Tim Cox, Jim McMickin, Will James, Cameron Cox, Nicholas Crosby, Paten Hunt, Riley Hunt, Matthew Chapman, Will Thrasher, Skylar Huff, Gabriel Chapman and Jeremy Hunt.
