Ann Copeland Farmer, formerly of Oakfield, GA, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Hospice of Wake County in Raleigh, NC, surrounded by her loving family.
Ann was born in Lake Wales, Florida on June 9, 1932, and lived much of her adult life in Georgia. She married Charles Newton Farmer on December 19, 1948, and was married to him for 54 years until his death on January 6, 2003. For the final four years of her life she resided in North Carolina with her daughter, Karen L. Pitman, and her family.
Ann is survived by sons Charles Kenneth Farmer of Oakfield, GA, Ronnie J. Farmer and wife Teena of Ocklochnee, GA, and John F. Farmer and wife Cindy of Oakfield, GA; daughter Karen L. Pitman and husband Tom of Morrisville, NC; and son-in-law Anthony B. Deese and wife Angie of Oakfield, GA. She also is survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her daughter Marion G. Deese and a great-granddaughter Emma Grace Hall.
The family received friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2013, at New Bethel Freewill Baptist Church in Sylvester. A funeral service followed at 2 p.m. and interment was in the church cemetery. Rev. Michelle L. Foster officiated.
Pallbearers included Ron Farmer, Kenneth Farmer, Billy Farmer, Bobby Farmer, Jason Deese and Tom Pitman.
Ann was very grateful for the fine care she received at WakeMed Cary during her final hospitalization and the loving care she received at Hospice of Wake County.
