Mrs. Bettye Lunsford Holland, 81, of Sylvester died Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Willson Hospice House.
The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Mike Davis officiated.
Mrs. Lunsford was born in Worth County on December 5, 1933 to the late Charles Hadden and Maggie Dora Shepherd Lunsford, Sr. She lived in Worth County most of her life and worked as an LPN at Worth County Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, baking and fishing. Mrs. Holland was a member of The Order of Amaranth, a member for over 50 years in The Order of Eastern Star serving as a past Worthy Matron and the Scottish Rite Women’s Auxiliary. She was a member of Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, William H.”Bill” Holland of Sylvester; sons, Gene Cyree (Debra) and Ronnie Cyree both of Sylvester, step-daughters; Edith Kane (Steve) of Stone Mountain, Priscilla Carter (Hal) of Sylvester, Rebecca Johnson (Jackie) of Stockbridge, grandchildren; Melissa Walker (Wayne), Amanda Cyree (Ronald), Isacc Cyree (Tori), Savannah Cyree, ten great grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren, sister, Jackie Reynolds of Americus.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Billy Lunsford and Charles H. Lunsford, Jr.
The pallbearers were Ike Cyree, David Carter, Donald Lunsford, Wayne Walker, Will Carter and Alan Lunsford.
