Billy Mitchell Houston

Billy Mitchell Houston, Sr., 59, of Richmond, died Monday, February 3, 2014.
He was a devoted son, brother, spouse, father and grandfather. He was born and raised in Sylvester, GA, and lived in Atlanta, where he retired as vice president of sales for Georgia-Pacific. Following his retirement, he moved to Richmond, Va.
Billy Mitchell was preceded in death by his father, Arthur R. Houston; two brothers, Johnny and Tommy Houston; grandson, William Mitchell Houston; and wife, Mari Emily Houston.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alig Houston; son, Billy Mitchell Houston Jr. (Becky); stepsons, Alex Harrod (Susan) and Brian Joseph Williams; stepdaughter, Kelly Marie Williams; mother, Lottie Houston; brother, Mike Houston; sister, Joy (Ray) Shiver; grandsons, Chase and Conner Harrod; and a multitude of other loving family members and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held 12 noon Friday, February 7, 2014 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Richmond, VA, officiated by Father Robert Brownell.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on February 11, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Sylvester, GA, with Rev. Dr. Ben Bush officiating.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at First Baptist Church.
