Charles E. Roberts

Mr. Charles E. Roberts, 81, of Sylvester died Thursday, February 11, 2015 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service was held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Providence Cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Cargle officiated.
Mr. Roberts was born on September 16, 1933 in Worth County to the late Mike Cager Roberts and Gladys Beatrice Bloodworth Roberts. He had lived in Worth County all of his life. Mr. Roberts was a retired farmer and had served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed NASCAR and hunting. Mr. Roberts was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Janet Britt Roberts of Sylvester; daughters, Elaine Odom (Jerry) of Cordele and Charlene Jackson (Glenn) of Sylvester; grandchildren, Clint Ferguson (Brooke) and Pam Mullis (Chad); great-grandchildren, Ryder and Kruz Ferguson and Tyler and Bella Mullis; brothers, Mike Roberts (Karen) and Dice Roberts (Lynn) all of Sylvester and a sister-in-law, Jean Roberts.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his step-mother, Alline Baxley Roberts and a brother, Marvin Roberts.
Pallbearers included Michael Roberts, Mason Roberts, Brian Roberts, Justin Roberts, Steven Roberts and Leland Roberts.
