Cheryl Jane Willis Walker

Cheryl Jane Willis Walker, 55, of Tifton passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Pruitt Health Care in Sylvester. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Dr. Wayne Roe officiating. Ms. Walker was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Born November 28, 1959 in Tift County, Ms. Walker was the daughter of the late Curtis Marion Willis and Daphne Christine Thacker Willis. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenny Marion Willis and Gary Dean Willis. She graduated from Moultrie Tech and served the mayor of Albany as legal secretary and was an administrative assistant for the State of Georgia. She was the first female Lieutenant Colonel in the JROTC at Tift County High School and of the Baptist faith.

Ms. Walker is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Michelle Willis of Tifton; and her favorite and only nephew, Alex Willis of Tifton.
