On August 7th, Tony Edward Childers Jr. was found guilty of seven counts of child molestation, bringing an end to a case that has been ongoing since December of 2011.
Childers, who was arrested on February 2, 2012 plead not guilty to all seven counts of child molestation. After initially being held in the Worth County Jail without bond, he was eventually granted bond at $21,000 on March 22, 2012. He was released under the conditions that he not flee the area, appear in court when summoned, and that he not have any contact with his accuser or accuser’s family.
Childers will continue to be held in the Worth County Jail until sentencing.
