Christine Kilcrease

Mrs. Christene Melton “Tene” Kilcrease, 75, of Sylvester, died on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Pine Shadows Retirement Manor.

The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Cooper and Rev. Bruce Gordon officiated.  

Mrs. Kilcrease was born on May 18, 1944 in Worth County, to the late Eddie Brown Melton and Vera Beulah Sizemore Watson. She had lived in Worth County all of her life and loved sports having served as a softball coach. Mrs. Kilcrease was involved in the planning of festivities in Sylvester such as the Christmas Parade and the Peanut Festival. She worked at Miss Georgee’s Day Care and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Sonja K. McDonald (Irvin) of Sylvester, Brent Kilcrease (Allison) of Sylvester; grandchildren, Zayne Bennett (Harley), Kaitlyn Lawson (Clay), Sydney Gibson (Brandon), Kendal Kilcrease, Avery Kilcrease and Brentley Kilcrease; 4 great grandchildren and a brother, Larry Melton (Marie).

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kilcrease was preceded in death by her husband, William Wayne Kilcrease on May 17, 1999.
