Earl Fletcher

Mr. Earl Fletcher, 96, of Sylvester died on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the Pine Shadows Retirement Manor.

The funeral service was held at 3:00 PM on Sunday December 15, 2019 at the Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church, interment followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery with full military honors. The Rev. Steve Purnell and Rev. Mike Davis officiated.  

Mr. Fletcher was born on March 24, 1923 in Worth County to the late Henry Perry and Eunice Young Fletcher. He had lived in Worth County all of his life and was retired as owner and operator of Fletcher’s Tire Service. Mr. Fletcher was a United States Army Veteran of WW II, serving in the Pacific Theater.  He enjoyed working at Fletcher Yearta Jewelers, spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Fletcher was a member of the Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church and the American Legion Sylvester Post # 335. Mr. Fletcher was a chartered member of the Poulan Lion’s Club.

Survivors include his daughters, Susan Yearta (Bill) of Sylvester, Tracy Bennett (Rodger) of Marietta; grandchildren, Mary Kathryn Rogers (Ford), Cliff Yearta, Kelly Bennett, Kyle Bennett (Jackie); great grandchild, Will Bennett and a sister, Martha Lou Hancock.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Fletcher was preceded in death by his wife, Lera Hortman Fletcher on April 16, 2002.
