Mr. George “Tony” Fambro, 65, of Sylvester died Wednesday July 24, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday August 3, 2013 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Mylan Brookins and Bill Barksdale officiating.
Mr. Fambro was born on November 28, 1947 in Manchester, GA to the late Clarence Edmon and Lorene Aultman Fambro. He lived in Worth County for the past 25 years and was formerly employed with Delta Airlines. Mr. Fambro loved writing and singing gospel music. He was very creative and a good decorator.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Strickland Fambro of Sylvester; brother, Harold Fambro (Kathy) of Nashville, TN; sisters, Runell F. Bouchard (Don) of Sylvester and Gloria Fambro of Augusta; mother and father-in-law, Coach C.B. and Edna Strickland of Henagar, AL; brother-in-law, Jim Strickland (Vicky) of New Market, AL and several nieces and nephews.
