Gloria Youngblood

Gloria Aultman Youngblood, 93, of Red Rock Community in Worth County went to be with her Lord, Sunday June 2, 2019. A Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday June 4, 2019 at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Aultman officiating.

Gloria was born January 14, 1926 to the late Emmett and Jewel Aultman of Worth County. A graduate of the University of Georgia, she taught school in Worth and Dougherty counties for 30 years. She married the love of her life, Worthen Youngblood in 1949 and spent 69 years as his loving wife and friend. Being a proud Southern Baptist Christian, she served Salem Baptist Church faithfully as the organist and pianist for over 70 years.

Survivors include her children, Jill Powell (Gene) and Hank Youngblood (Marsha); grandchildren, Staci Powell (Lindsay), Jo Beth Maxwell (Bill), Molly Barnard (Shawn), Jacob Barnes (Courtney), Matthew Barnes (Paige), and Abby Hembree (Leland); 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Worthen Youngblood; siblings, Eleanor Campbell, Midge Gurr, and Jack Aultman; and great-granddaughters, Sealy Jewel and Harper Jane Hembree.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Barnes, Matthew Barnes, Luke Powell, Bill Maxwell, Shawn Barnard, and Leland Hembree.

The family wishes to thank her dedicated caregivers, Dianne Anderson, Bertha Fowler, and Mae Woodard.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 3, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Salem Baptist Church, c/o of Peggy McCrary, 1015 Woodcrest Road, Sylvester, GA 31791 or The Willson Hospice House, 320 Foundation Lane, Albany, Georgia 31701.
