Ima Bassett Patterson

Mrs. Ima Bassett Patterson, 88, of Sumner died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Pruitt Health Care in Sylvester.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Pine Hill Baptist Church with interment following in the Church Cemetery.  The Rev. Donne Wright officiated.

Mrs. Patterson was born on March 10, 1926 in Berrien County to the late Levis Eugene and Ezelle Hood Bassett.  She had lived in Worth County most of her life.  Mrs. Patterson was formerly employed with Sylvester Textile and Suburban Manufacturing for a number of years. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Baptist Worth Hospital for 5 years.  She was a hard worker who enjoyed her family, sewing, cooking, and looking after her neighbors.  Mrs. Patterson was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was in the Adult Sunday School class.

Survivors include her daughters, Ann Barksdale (Jimmy) of Sylvester, Brenda Willis (Dale) of Cordele, Vicki Bridges of Moultrie; son, Sonny Patterson (Cathy) of Ty Ty; eight grandchildren a number of great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, O. S. Patterson, Jr., on July 23, 2010, a son, Dale Patterson on January 14, 2009, a grandson James Ralph (Little Sonny) Patterson, Jr.; brothers, Quinton, Lawton (Hump), Forrest (Red) and Delmer Bassett; sisters, Betty B. Eady and Virginia B. Stone.

Pallbearers included Kenneth Brooks, Jamey Hartsfield, Ronny Pattee, Anthony Guarniei, Adam Guarnieri and Larry Crowe.
