James Carl Swilley

James Carl Swilley, 66, of Sumner died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at his residence in Sumner, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Baker Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Paulk’s Chapel in Worth County. Rev. Donnie Sloan, Rev. David C. Swilley, Kevin E. Swilley and James T. Swilley will officiate.

Active pallbearers will be Jake Swilley, Bryan Swilley, Steve Truluck, Jerry Saunders, Buddy Saunders, and Jack Saunders.

Mr. Swilley was born in Moultrie on September 11, 1947 to the late Carl Homer Swilley and Lula Mae Carroll Swilley. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by his wife, Margie Jeanette Saunders Swilley of Sumner; sons, James T. Swilley (Laureana) of Sumner, Kevin E. Swilley of Albany and David C. Swilley of Sumner; daughters, Jeanenne Benton (Jerry) of Moultrie and Rebecca Crummey (Wayne) of Baxley; brothers, Bob Swilley (Lavenia) of Texas and Randall Swilley of Norman Park; sisters, Ann Matthews (Frank) of Douglas, Marilyn McLeod (John) of Albany, Lila Criddle of Texas, and Ellen Weldon (Ken) of Alabama; grandchildren, Jake, Bryan, Keegan, Steven, Ethan, and Sarah Swilley; Nathan and Jonathan Benton, and Casey and Brooke Griffin.

Visitation is planned for Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Baker Funeral Home.
