James “Lou” Giddens

Mr. James “Lou” Giddens, Sr., 67, of Poulan died Monday, May 14, 2018 at his residence. The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Poulan Baptist Church with interment following in the Poulan Cemetery.  Rev. Freddy White officiated.

Mr. Giddens was born on April 27, 1951 in Worth County to the late John Henry and Jewell Green Giddens.  He had lived in Poulan all his life.  Mr. Giddens was a Veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  He was retired from Massey Ferguson as a tractor mechanic and Futrill Auto Parts where he worked as a Parts Salesman.  Mr. Giddens was devoted to his family especially his children and grandchildren.  He was a member of Poulan Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathy Williamson (Richard) of Mason, OH; son, James “Jamie” Giddens, Jr. (Marie) of Poulan; caregiver/ex spouse, Kathy Giddens of Sylvester; grandchildren, Austin Williamson and Carly Williamson; great –grandchild, Drake Williamson; brother, Johnny Giddens (Patsy) of Sylvester; step-grandchildren, Curtis Lewis, Trisha Lewis and Becky Lewis; step-great-grandchildren, Gracie Lou Grimes, Floria Grimes, Cam Lewis, Hannahbell Fowler and Madison Lewis; along with a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Giddens was preceded in death by his sisters, Geraldine Hancock and Geneva Harper.
