James Spence

Mr. James L. “Jimmy” Spence, III, 60, of Leesburg died Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Willson Hospice House.

A memorial service was held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Greenbriar Church, 3404 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA. Rev. Tim Bice officiated.

Mr. Spence was born in Worth County on August 13, 1955 to the late James L. and Emily Geeslin Spence. He lived in Dougherty and Lee County all his life and worked as a general contractor. He enjoyed music, playing the guitar, drums, piano, singing and poetry. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Spence of Leesburg, children; Nick Spence (Erin) of Sylvester, Ginger King (Brian) of Albany, Scott King (Ansley) of Leesburg and Thomas King (Melanie) of Valdosta, sister; Judy Heard (Jeff) of Newnan, brothers; Larry Spence of Leesburg, Stan Spence (Dana) of Macon, seven grandchildren, nieces and nephews; Emily Gates, Jenna Heard and Brandon Spence.

For those desiring memorials may be made to Willson Hospice House, 320 Foundation Ln., Albany, Ga., 31707

The family will visit with friends immediately following the service.
