Jean Owen Roberts

Mrs. Jean Owen Roberts, 86, of Sylvester died Tuesday February 16, 2016 at her son’s residence in Clermont, FL.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Saturday,  February 20, 2016 at Antioch Baptist Church with interment  following in the Providence Cemetery. The Rev. Bruce Gordon officiated.

Mrs. Roberts was born in Wilmington, NC on September 11, 1929 to the late Leslie Edward and Eva Owen. Mrs. Roberts had lived in Worth County since 1972, moving here from Florida. She formerly worked with the Kennedy Space Center and retired from J.C.Penny as a Cosmetologist. Mrs. Roberts enjoyed traveling with her friends to gospel sings. She loved her grandchildren and was a lifetime member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Bill Rich of Melbourne, FL, and Kent Roberts (Bonnie) of Clermont, FL; step-children, Keith Roberts of TX, Karen Roberts of Clermont, FL; grandchildren, Christie Vorassi (Josh), Laura Rich, Megan Rich, Cager Roberts and Casey Roberts (LeeAnn); six great-grandchildren; and a brother Don Owen of Anderson, SC.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin C. Roberts and her son Jeffery Rich.

Pallbearers included Stacey Jones, Stuart Jones, Leland Roberts, Stacey Roberts, Justin Roberts and Steven Roberts
