Jefferson Millage Irvin

Jefferson Millage (Jeff) Irvin, 58, of Sylvester, GA died Wednesday, December 19, 2013 at Phoebe Putney Memorial. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Lee Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Travelers Rest Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
A native of Chandler, AZ, Mr. Irvin resided in Albany, GA before moving to Sylvester 23 years ago. He was a 1973 graduate of Dougherty High School. He also attended Albany Technical College and graduated from Georgia Southwestern College.
Jeff was employed with Cooper Tire Company for 15 years and retired from the Marine Corps Logistic Base. He was a member of Travelers Rest Freewill Baptist Church in Baker County, GA and also a member of the Loyal Order of  the Moose, Lodge # 1285.
Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Irvin of Sylvester; his mother, Marlene Irvin of Sylvester; a brother, Tim Irvin of Sylvester; a sister, Terry Snellgrove and her husband, Scott of Leesburg; a grandson, Wyatt Jefferson Irvin of Sylvester; his fiancée, Markel Reese of Albany and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jefferson Irvin.
The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at Mathews Funeral Home.
