Jiles Raymond Lindsey

Mr. Jiles Raymond Lindsey, 77, of Sylvester died Saturday November 2, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday November 6, 2013 at Salem Baptist Church with interment following in Salem Church Cemetery. Rev. Jackie Cabaniss officiated.
Mr. Lindsey was born in Crisp County on April 18, 1936 to the late John William and Mattie Frances Harp Lindsey. He lived in Worth County since 1972 and retired as a supervisor after 18 years with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. Following his retirement Mr. Lindsey worked for Gravely Tractor Company and was self employed. Mr. Lindsey served in the United States Army and was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Betty Gill Lindsey of Sylvester; sisters, Carolyn Moore (Leon) of Warwick and Glenda Whitfield of Albany; nephew, Dr. G. Kevin Moore (Sharon) of Albany; nieces, Kim Littleton (Chad) of Doerun and Angie Perry (Bert) of Durango, CO; brothers-in-law, Morris Gill and A.W. Gill (Carole), all of Oakfield and sister-in-law, Vonnice Gill Brown (Harlan) of Oakfield.
Mr. Lindsey had two great-nieces, three great-nephews and one great, great-niece and together they had a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Blondine Gill Kennedy and Patsy Gill Hall and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Whitfield.
For those desiring memorials may be made to United Hospice of Cordele, 708 E. Sixteenth Ave., Cordele, GA 31015.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home.
