Jimmy Cochran, Jr.

Georgia State Patrol Master Trooper (Retired) James Harold “Jimmy” Cochran, Jr., 65, of Sylvester died Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church.  The Rev. Mike Davis and Rev. Cathy Green will officiate.
Mr. Cochran was born on November 7, 1952 in Sylvester to the late James Harold and Annette Pate Cochran.  He had lived in Worth County most of his life.  Mr. Cochran retired from the Georgia State Patrol as a Master Trooper with over 24 years of service.  He was a faithful member of Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class.  Mr. Cochran was a member of the Worth County Livestock Association, Worth County Young Farms Association, The Georgia Cattleman’s Association and a supporter of the Youth Livestock Committee.  Jimmy enjoyed traveling, helping out on the family farm, working with his cows, but he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Charlotte Hagan Cochran of Sylvester; daughter, Courtney Cochran (Reid Bryan) of Sylvester; brother, Johnny Cochran (Cindy) of Sylvester; brothers-in-law, Gene Hagan (Jean), Joel Hagan (Terri) and Dale Hagan (Marie), all of Thomasville; sisters-in-law, Gail Hagan of Thomasville and Lisa Taylor (Brandon) of Bainbridge; nieces and nephews, Brett Cochran (Maegan), Rebekah Cochran, Lindsay Clay (Jonathon), Corky Hagan, Janet Hagan, Noah Bryant and Brooke Hagan; along with a host of extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 AM until the Service Hour at Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to Pinson Memorial United Church, PO Box 118, Sylvester, Georgia 31791. Please sign our online guest registry at www.banksfh.com.
