Jimmy David Bostic

Mr. Jimmy David Bostic, Sr., Sgt. 1st Class US Army (Ret.), 77, of Sylvester died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at his residence.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday March 15, 2014 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was held at 2 p.m. Saturday March 15, 2014 at Beaver Dam Cemetery in Ray City, GA with full military honors. Rev. Grady Morey officiated.
Mr. Bostic was born on March 03, 1937 in Nashville, GA to the late Henry Freeman and Susie Sapp Bostic. He lived in Worth County since 1984. Mr. Bostic was a retired 20 year veteran of the United States Army serving during Vietnam. Following his retirement he worked at the Marine Corps Logistic Base for 16 years before retiring as a supervisor. Mr. Bostic was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Association and was an avid music recorder. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his son, Jeff Douglas Bostic of Painesville, OH; daughters, Jacquelyn Bostic of Albany and Doreen Bostic of Sylvester; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Rose Carroll of Macon and Mary Topping of Iowa.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bostic was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy D. “Jimbo” Bostic, Jr. on November 2, 2009 and his wife, Katy McInvale Bostic on February 11, 2012.
The family received friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home.
