Mrs. Joan Gunter Lumpkin, 86, of Shingler died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at her son’s residence.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday February 4, 2014 in Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Donnie Nix officiating.
Mrs. Lumpkin was born on September 18, 1927 to Joseph William and Willa Rabon Gunter in Sylvester. She was a lifelong resident of Worth County. Mrs. Gunter was formerly employed with Judge W. J. Crowe as a legal secretary for many years. She was a member of Shingler Baptist Church where she served as the church pianist.
Survivors include her son, William Lee Lumpkin of Shingler and grandchildren, Trent Lumpkin and Lindsey Lumpkin of Shingler.
Mrs. Lumpkin was preceded in death by her husband, Thurston Lee Lumpkin on March 5, 2001.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Banks Funeral Home.
