John O. Leiter

Mr. John O. Leiter, 90, of Bridgeboro, died Friday, October 10, 2014 at his residence.

The Funeral Service was held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 13, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Doerun with interment following in the Liberty Hill Church Cemetery. The Rev. David Benton officiated.

Mr. Leiter was born in Louisville, Ohio on April 8, 1924 to the late John Edgar and Adda Carmen Kendrick Leiter. He had lived in Worth County since 1968.  Mr. Leiter was a livestock farmer and enjoyed gardening.  He was a member of the Gulf Beach Presbyterian Church of Panama City, FL.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Pannell Leiter of Bridgeboro; son, John O. Leiter, Jr. of Bridgeboro; daughter, Donna L. Hembree (Jimmy) of Doerun; grandchildren, Darren Hembree (Wendy), Jordan Hembree (Kori), Ryan Hembree; great-grandchildren, Hayden Hembree, Landon Hembree, Hadley Hembree; and a sister, Martha McClain of LeHigh Acres, FL.

Active pallbearers included Darren Hembree, Ryan Hembree, Carl Lewis, Jordan Hembree, Mark Pannell and Jimmy Hembree.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Leiter was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Redmon and Marcille Bagley.
