Joseph Sidney Jarrell

Joseph Sidney Jarrell, 96, died Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Sylvester Nursing Home in Sylvester, GA. Visitation was Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Culley’s Meadowwood Funeral Home, Timberlane Chapel in Tallahassee, FL, with funeral services following at 11 a.m. Interment took place in Culley’s Meadowwood Memorial Park.
Sidney was born April l5, 1917 in Mitchell County, GAto John and Lillie (Curles) Jarrell. He was a farmer for most of his career having worked at Rose Hill Plantation in Tallahassee, FL. Sidney was a member of Tallahassee Community Baptist Church.
Sidney was united in marriage to his wife Estella on July 12, 1941. She preceded him in death on Oct. 21, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his son, Harold Jarrell and his eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his daughter, Erlene (Ernest) Brooks of Sylvester; his grandchildren, Van (Laura) Brooks of Fitzgerald, Vickey (Marc) Haralson and Billy (Jennifer) Brooks of Sylvester, Michelle Jarrell, Michael Jarrell, and Tanya (John) Gloss of Tallahassee, FL. He is also survived by his twelve great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.
Culley’s Meadowwood Funeral Home in Tallahasee, FL was in charge of arrangements.
