Joyce Childers Apperson

Mrs. Joyce Childers Apperson, 75, of Sylvester, died Thursday April 3, 2014 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Saturday April 5, 2014 with interment following in the Apperson Family Cemetery. Reverends Jackie Cabaniss and Wendell Apperson officiated.
Serving as pallbearers were  Wade Salter, Michael Childers, Brian Brandon, Danny Salter, Richie Childers and Ricky Yeatts.
Mrs. Apperson was born on February 2, 1939 in Rome, GA to the late Fred Marion and Bonnie Wilma Swanson Childers. She lived in Worth County most of her life and was formerly employed with Peter Pan Peanut Butter. Mrs. Apperson enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching her hummingbirds. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Eric Aubrey Apperson of Sylvester; daughters, Beverly A. Brandon (Virgil) of Sylvester, Tammy A. Stinson (Marshall) of Sylvester, Merita Sullivan (James) of Tifton and Kelley Apperson of Sylvester; sisters, Imogene Yeatts of Tobaccoville, NC, Hazel McDowell of Sylvester and Joann Chauncey of Kingsland, GA; brothers, Fonda “Bud” Childers of Poulan, Frankie Childers of Doles and Richie Childers of Sylvester; grandchildren, Brian Brandon, James Clinton Sullivan and one great-grandchild, Evan James Sullivan.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Apperson was preceded in death by a grandson, Jon Brandon and five siblings.
