Julia Singletary

Mrs. Julia Pauline Singletary, 86 of Sylvester, died on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Pruitt Health Care Sylvester.

The funeral service was held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday November 12, 2019 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel, interment followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Gerald Mallard officiated.  

Mrs. Singletary was born on April 10, 1933 in Nashville, GA., to the late Henry and Alma Rutherford Jones. She had lived in Worth County most of her life and was a homemaker. Before retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Singletary owned and operated the Poulan Grocery Store for many years. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family especially her grand and great grandchildren. Mrs. Singletary was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.

 Survivors include her son, William Singletary (Diane) of Poulan; son-in-law, Roger Gay; grandchildren, Mike Purvis (Tina) of Albany, Christopher Singletary of Tifton, Crystal Bochett (Joey) of VA, Shane Singletary (Marina) of Tifton and David Gay (Gwenn) of VA; 5 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Singletary was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Singletary; daughters, Virginia Singletary Tyson and Norma Jean Gay; great grandchild, Jaxon Singletary.
