Mrs. Lillian Kimbro Fletcher, 92, of Sylvester formerly of Shingler died Wednesday December 11, 2013 at Pine Shadows Too Retirement Manor in Sylvester.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday December 14, 2013 at Banks Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Shingler Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Connell and Dr. Ben Bush officiated.
Pallbearers included, Cody Connell, Kevin Connell, Kirby Connell, Adam Fletcher, Levi Fletcher, Clay Fletcher and Lee Fletcher.
Mrs. Fletcher was born on November 7, 1921 in Turner County to the late Emory Lawrence and Rhoda Jane Pirkle Kimbro. She lived in Worth County all of her life. Mrs. Fletcher was a member of First Baptist Church, the Bykota Sunday School Class, WMU and Senior Adults. Mrs. Fletcher was retired from the Marine Corps Logistics Base. She enjoyed reading, working in her yard and sewing. Following her retirement Mrs. Fletcher made 96 quilts for her family members.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara F. Connell (Grady) of Sumner; sons, Lawrence C. Fletcher (Maria) and Merritt W. “Woody” Fletcher, Jr., all of Sumner; grandchildren, Danny Connell, Jr. (Darlene), Jeff Connell (Kim), Clay Fletcher, Carrie Fletcher, Lee Fletcher, Lauren Fletcher, Lizbelle Mata, Levi Fletcher (Stephanie), Ashley Triston and Adam Fletcher; sisters, Doris Hambrick of Sylvester and Edith Lumpkin of Shingler; sister-in-law, Lanelle Parr of Sylvester; great-grandchildren, Kristina Brunson (Nathan), Catherine Wagster (Ashley), Cara Connell, Cody, Kevin and Kirby Connell, Logan and Ben Fancher, Brenden Fletcher, Riley and Ryder Triston.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Fletcher was preceded in death by her husband, Merritt W. Fletcher, Sr. on September 11, 1978; three brothers, Frank, Roy and James Kimbro; and two sisters, Flora Raney and Frances Burkett Hobby.
