Margaret Pendley Bennett

Mrs. Margaret Pendley Bennett, 92, of Sylvester died Friday July 18, 2014 at Baptist Village in Waycross.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 21, 2014 at First Baptist Church with interment following in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Dr. Ben Bush officiated.

Mrs. Bennett was born on September 7, 1921 in Crosland to the late Thomas Irvin and Cyntha Willis Pendley. She had lived in Worth County most of her life. Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker who loved taking care of her grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Judy Bennett Reed of Sylvester and Kay Bennett Barksdale (Don) of Sylvania; son, Greg Bennett (Pamela) of Douglas; grandchildren, Alena Bazemore, Marla Baker, Stephanie Trupp, Jenifer Wlodyka, Lacy Clements and Quinn Curtis Bennett; 9 great-grandchildren; and brother, Ray Pendley of Lake Blackshear.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis B. Bennett, Jr. on February 6, 2007, and son-in-law, Richard V. Reed.

Pallbearers included Larry Pendley, Quinn Bennett, Hubert Souter, Tommy Pendley, Mark Giddens, and Seth Bazemore.
