Marvin E. Davis

Mr. Marvin E. Davis, 80, of Baconton and formerly of Sylvester, died Friday, November 7, 2014 at Phoebe North Hospital.

The Funeral Service was held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Banks Funeral Home with interment following in the Isabella Church Cemetery. The Revs. Jerry Cooper, David Wolfe, and Jason Jones officiated.

Mr. Davis was born in Baker County on September 23, 1938 to the late Greene Davis and Ruth Daniels Davis. He had lived in Worth County since 1975 until moving to Baconton three years ago.  Mr. Davis was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in both Korea and Vietnam.  He retired as a Tec. Sgt. after 23 years of honorable service.  Mr. Davis enjoyed fishing, bowling and napping.  He was a member of Travelers Rest Freewill Baptist Church in Baker County and former member and deacon of Northside Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sons, Mark Davis (Penny) of Sylvester and Terry Dewayne Davis (Karla) of Rolling Meadows, IL; sisters, Ruby Ethridge of Baconton and Annie Ruth Chewning of Sylvester; grandchildren, Shawn Davis (Arriane), Valerie Carr (Jeff) and Zachary Davis (Mandy); great-grandchildren, Bramwell Carr, Jonas Carr, Ethan Carr, Zoe Davis and Easton Davis.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Christine F. Davis on July 29, 2010; 2 brothers, Howell Davis, Sr. and Troy Davis, Sr.

Pallbearers included Mike Lumpkin, Bobby Fowler, Jeff Fowler, Travis Stone, Roger Spence and Bobby Fowler.
