Mary Carolyn McCrary Lawson

Mrs. Mary Carolyn McCrary Lawson, 83, of Sylvester died Thursday January 28, 2016 at Phoebe Worth Medical Center.
The funeral service was held at 3:00 PM on Sunday January 31, 2016 at Northside Baptist Church, interment followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Cargle and Rev. Jerry Cooper officiated.
Mrs. Lawson was born in Sumter County on August 5, 1932 to the late Benjamin Carl and Martha Greene McCrary. She had lived in Worth County most of her life and was retired from the Worth County Board of Education having worked in the cafeteria. Mrs. Lawson loved her family, was a member of Northside Baptist Church and the O.P.E.L. Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her sons, Melvin Lawson (Susan) of Mulberry, FL, Craig Lawson (Bambi) of Sylvester; daughters, Brenda Peek (Steve) of Tifton and Cindy Hawke (James) of Sylvester; sisters, Edith
Day (James) of Sylvester, Annette Ball (Bob) of Neosho, MO; grandchildren; Mike and Kim Lawson, Krista Wilkerson, Lori Bohde, Tommy and Kevin Scott, Pam Mullis, Chase Hartsfield, Landon Peek, Candice Melton and A. J. Hawke; 15 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Latrelle Barksdale of Tifton.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James Edward Lawson; son, Kenneth Lawson; grandsons, Steven Lawson and Michael Scott; sister, Helen Cline and a brother, Earl McCrary.
Pallbearers included, Billy Weaver, Kemp Willis, Jackie Rigsby, James Harrell, Wayne Paramore and Gary Pitts.
