Mary Gertrude Griffin

Mrs. Mary Gertrude “Trudie” Griffin, 58, of Sylvester, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at her home.
The funeral services honoring her life were conducted Friday, August 23, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Enigma Congregationalist Christian Church in Enigma, GA. Rev. Mark Stone  officiated with interment following in the Enigma Cemetery.
Mrs. Griffin was born in Albany, GA on February 10, 1955 to the late Carlton Moncus and Mary Kirkland Moncus. Trudie, as she was known by, worked for several years with Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital as a unit secretary.  Trudie loved fishing and cooking, where she always provided a big meal for her family to enjoy. She was a member of Enigma Congregationalist Christian Church and also attended First Baptist Church of Sylvester. Her grandchildren were among her greatest joys and love. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband, Grayson Griffin; her sons and daughters-in-law, Julian L. and Aileen Griffin of Thomasville and Philip and Samantha Griffin of Snellville; her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and David Anderson of Leesburg; her grandchildren, Ethan and Olivia Griffin of Thomasville and Macy and Halley Griffin of Snellville; her nephew, Christopher Moncus and niece, Jennifer Moncus, both of Tallahassee, FL; as well as her “granddog” Izzie of Leesburg.
Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her brother, Glenn Moncus.
The family received friends on Thursday, August 22 between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m. at Hall and Hall Funeral Home.
