Mrs. Mary Wylene Haney, 80 of Sylvester died on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.
The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Sylvester, interment followed in the Poulan Cemetery. The Rev. Donnie Duncan and Rev. Earnie Pirkle officiated.
Mrs. Haney was born on February 22, 1939 in Poulan, GA., to the late William Julius and Mary Julia Jones Aultman. She had lived in Sylvester since 1976 and was a gifted Education Specialist. Mrs. Haney started her teaching career at Worth Academy, she taught at the Worth County School System for 29 years and later retired in 1994 from Robert Cross Middle School in Albany. Mrs. Haney enjoyed watching westerns, sewing, cooking/baking, tending to her vegetable garden, but most importantly she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for 40 years, where she also taught Sunday School for 25 years.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Haney of Sylvester; children, Pam Ulm (Tim) of Sylvester, Greg Haney (Kay) of Johns Creek, GA; grandchildren, Kaitlan Haney, Jennifer Haney, Kaytlyn Ulm and Cody Ulm; brother, William “Buddy” Aultman (Lynn); sisters, Bobbie Hodge (Johnny), Janice Miller (Joe) and Betty Gresham (Wayne); nieces, Melissa Stevenson, Amanda Miller, Stacey Jones and Donna Covalinski; nephews, John Hodge, Jr., Daniel Gresham, Todd Gresham, Lamar Gresham and Scott Schonfeldt- Aultman.
Mrs. Haney was preceded in death by her parents.
