Mary Kathryn Guy

Ms. Mary Kathryn Guy, 76 of Sylvester, died on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday October 29, 2019 at Unity Baptist Church, interment followed in the Fletcher Family Cemetery. The Rev. Mike McPherson and Rev. Charlie Brown officiated.  

Ms. Guy was born on August 1, 1943 in Palatka, FL., to the late Thomas Logan and Mary Fletcher Guy. She had lived in Worth County for the past 48 years and was a retired beautician after many years. Ms. Guy enjoyed crocheting, gardening, flowers and cooking, but most importantly spending time with her friends and family. She attended Unity Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Tammy Merritt, Sheila Merritt Smith (Ray), Wendy King (Chris) and Chris Hudgins (Courtney) all of Sylvester; grandchildren, Jay Smith, Jeremy Smith, Haleigh Smith, Braden King, Cason King, Livi King, Shelby Hudgins and Eli Hudgins; great grandchildren, Grace and Ziva Smith; Sisters, Jane Farnen (Doug), Margaret Goodwin (Jimmy) and Mildred Benson (Jack); a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Guy was preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas L. Guy, Jr., Cecil Guy and his wife, (Jo), Joan Guy and Elizabeth Bellefeuille and her husband, Normand.
