Maude Mathews Bentley

Mrs. Maude Mathews Bentley, 99, of Sumner died Sunday September 29, 2013 at Pine Shadows Too.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday October 1, 2013 at Banks Funeral Home with interment following in the Kimball Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Cooper officiated.
Pallbearers included Mickey Bentley, Randy Bentley, Kent Varnadoe, Zain Varnadoe, Josh Hall and Justin Bentley.
Mrs. Bentley was born on December 24, 1913 in Irwin County to the late Jet Eugene and Mamie Belle Whittington Mathews. She lived in Worth County for the past 70 years and was a homemaker. Mrs. Bentley enjoyed cooking, sewing, fishing and her flowers. She was a member of Kimball United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Varnadoe of Doerun; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Bentley of Sumner; grandchildren, Randy Bentley, Mickey Bentley (Gayla), Beverly Woodall (Timothy), Kent Varnadoe and Kathy Varnadoe; eight great-grandchildren, two great, great-grandchildren and a sister, Louise Blackburn (Junior) of Moultrie.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Bentley was preceded in death by a son, Travis Bentley; son-in-law, Hugh Varnadoe; granddaughter, Pamela Kay Varnadoe; great-grandson, Thomas Travis Bentley and her brothers, Gene, Marion, Bill, Floyd, Roy and Fred Mathews.
